Company History: This company was launched in 1985 as a common carrier on 3 miles of former Reading line between Landisville and Silver Spring, Pennsylvania. The parent company, Amherst Industries had been operating it as a private railroad since 1982 which explains the railroads incongruous AMHR reporting marks. The reporting marks have since been changed to LVR. In late 2012, the LVR took over operation of a mile and a half of line and a bulk liquid trans-loading facility in East Chicago, Indiana from the Buckeye East Chicago Railroad. This arrangement lasted about five years before LVR turned it over to Indiana Harbor Belt.
