Transportation Company - Eastern Illinois - Railroad

Company History: The EIRC was launched in 1991 to take over operation of a 53 mile line between Neoga and Metcalf, Illinois. The route was originally part of the narrow gauge mainline of the Toledo Cincinnati & St. Louis Railroad. It was later standard gauged and passed through the hands of the Toledo St. Louis & Western (the Clover Leaf), Nickel Plate Road, Norfolk & Western, Norfolk Southern and Indiana Hi-Rail before Eastern Illinois took over. Traffic is primarily grain with a bit of lumber and plastic added to the mix. They currently run the line with a pair of GP10’s and a GP9 although they also had a third GP10 and a CF7 which have since been disposed of.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
