Company History: This line began as a 1997 spinoff from Canadian National running from Saskatoon north to Prince Albert plus three branches from the north end, all in the Province of Saskatchewan. In addition to moving grain and calcium chloride, CTRW moved a good deal of traffic from a paper mill in Prince Albert but sadly that mill closed in 2006. The green and yellow paint is a nod to the provincial flag of Saskatchewan. The CTRW is owned by the OmniTRAX group of shortlines.
Brief History: Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Major cities include massive Toronto, west coast film centre Vancouver, French-speaking Montréal and Québec City, and capital city Ottawa. Canada's vast swaths of wilderness include lake-filled Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. It's also home to Niagara Falls, a famous group of massive waterfalls.
