Notes: This model is NOT a DATEJUST. Despite its vintage status, the Lady Date 6916 is sleek and sophisticated. Its feature set includes a brushed stainless steel Oyster case and three-piece link Oyster bracelet. A smooth bezel tops the case and frames the metallic blue dial nicely. The ladies Rolex 6916 displays the time via silver index hour markers, white dots at each minute position, and hands filled with lume plots. The date displays always sits at the 3-hour marker, making this ladies reference instantly recognizable as a Rolex Date. This women's Rolex also offers a waterproof case, protecting the movement within from light wear. This ref. 6916 is an affordable option to consider if you're in the market for your first vintage timepiece.
Mechanism: The 2035 was produced for 13 years, from 1970 to 1983. The 2035 is the date version. Its sister is the 2030 which has no date function. It is a 28-jewel self-winding movements, they borrowed many of the technical enhancements first seen in the all-conquering 1500 series. In addition, they released them at the end of the fifties. This proved to be very reliable in some of the most popular watches in the men’s collection.
This movement does not have a quick-set feature. Rather, they have instantaneous date change at midnight.

Family Notes: The Rolex "Date" family of watches are smaller and less expensive than their cousins, the "Datejust" family. Date watches are enclosed in 34mm cases, whereas Datejust models are in 36mm cases. Furthermore, the Date models use 19mm width straps while the larger Datejust models use 20mm straps.
Being the less expensive line, new features reach the Date family only after the Datejust watches have already adapted them. For example, the Datejust family received mechanisms with Quickset date capability years before the Date models did.
