Body Style Information: Kato first released this EMD Class 66 in 2006 . Kato modeled Class 66 as they can be found with several operators on continental Europe. This is a true 1:160 scale model, as opposed to British models of Class 66 such as Dapol that are scaled 1:144:

The front Rapido coupler can be replaced by a dummy coupler (supplied) for more realistic appearance of front end.
Up to production year 2008 (ref. 10818) all models shipped without traction tires. From 2009 on (ref. 10819), models were equipped with 2 traction tires (with exception of model ref. 10821/66033).
DCC Information: Accepts NEM 651 / NMRA 6-pin decoders.

Prototype Information: The Class 66 is a type of six-axle diesel electric freight locomotive developed in part from the Class 59, for use on the railways of the UK. Since its introduction the class has been successful and has been sold to British and other European railway companies. In Continental Europe it is marketed as the EMD Series 66 (JT42CWR).

Since 1990, Lemke has been the general importer for Kato's products in Germany and Europe. Not only American and Japanese models were imported, but also models for the German and European market were produced under the name 'Kato Lemke'.
