Description: Arm Chair

Notes: Chippendale arm chair with pierced and carved vase shape center splat formed of circular acanthus and rosette carved scrolls with interlaced ribbon centers which are supported on molded, pierced and voluted bases. The top rail is of an escalloped outline with acanthus leaf carvings, the side supports are molded and terminate at the top corners in carved projecting volutes. The arms are outcurved and supported on curving brackets. The seat front is slightly serpentine with a band of gadroonings at the lower edge, the legs are of cabriole form with acanthus leaf carvings at the knees and claw and ball feet.
